This is an open call for participation for current MA GMD participants and alumni of the course  who are interested in distributing their self-published work on the Rolling Drum, the MA GMD press website.

Requirements

Featuring your publication on the Rolling Drum website means, to some degree, that the MA GMD course endorses your work. As such, we reserve the right to reject publications promoting ideas and values which are at odds with those of the course.

Please note that the Rolling Drum website is not an e-commerce platform — customers who wish to purchase your publications will be redirected to your personal email. It is your responsibility to liaise with them and arrange the sale. If your publication is selected we will explain how the redirection system works, and what will be your responsibilities.

We aim to review contributions at the start of each term (October, January, April). Please bear with us, and we will respond to your proposal as soon as possible.

If you wish to submit several projects, please send separate submissions (one email per project). We are looking forward to receiving your contributions!

How to submit your work (step by step guide)

1 – Fill in the Google Form:

Please indicate details of your publication. Fill out the google form and answer all the required questions. You can access the form in this link.

2 – Email images to us

Please send between 4 to 7 images of your publication to our press email therollingdrum@gmail.com. Please ensure images are produced according to the Photography Guidelines

If your images are too large to be sent by email, please provide a cloud link (ex.: google drive/dropbox/…) that we can access to. Avoid links that expire (ex.: wetransfer), as the email might not be checked immediately.

Please put the title of your email as Press Website submission: [Name Surname_Publication title_Date(ex.12/Jun/24)]

THE ROLLING DRUM

ABOUT
The Rolling Drum is an online platform with the purpose of disseminating publications developed by participants of the MA Graphic Media Design course at LCC, UAL, by offering a contact point with individual authors. Initiated by the MA GMD 2021 cohort and passed on in subsequent years, the PRESS has three purposes. The first is the distribution of course material – A Line Which Forms a Volume, along with newsletters and Positioning Practice publications. Secondly, the PRESS is a space for publishing experimental outputs from course workshops, and lastly it provides a location for connecting alumni to a wider audience, presenting multiples of their final outcomes alongside future publications.
